New York tourist day one

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
For my first day as a tourist in America I:
  • chatted to a high finance consultant over breakfast
  • walked around a construction site
  • cruised past the Statue of Liberty
  • saw the Empire State Building
  • met an idol
Ok, so the construction site was the world trade centre that is currently being re-built. The cruise past Ms Liberty was the free Staten Island ferry,  I saw the Empire State Building from the Rockefellow observatory (and to be honest, I'd rather do it that way because the Empire is prettier to luck at, and the queues aren't as long).

The idol I met wasn't really an idol. He's just someone I respect form the System Administrators community. Matt Simmons (of standalone-sysadmin.com) had organised a meetup in NY to celebrate System Administrators appreciation day, and seeing I was in Manhattan, I went.
